Most lab software is a dead end by design. A spreadsheet, a VI, a script that works for one experiment - and when the process actually succeeds, all of it gets thrown out and rebuilt from scratch by someone who wasn't there. GSDware builds the small thing properly the first time: real data model, real database, no rewrite waiting at the end.
What we build
- Test and characterization data. Results from your testers, probers, and benches captured once, in a schema that still holds up when volume goes from ten wafers a week to a production line.
- Lab instrument integration. Getting equipment to talk to a database and to each other - using the same integration patterns that run production tools, not a one-off acquisition script.
- Excel and LabVIEW, retired. Every lab has a spreadsheet or a VI that something critical depends on, written by someone who left two years ago. We rebuild those as real applications that outlive their author.
Small first, built to grow
Starting small is the right call in R&D - you don't know yet which experiment matters. That's an argument for scoping tight, not for building throwaway. Custom .NET applications with solid SQL Server design underneath cost about the same at bench scale and are still standing when the process transfers.
